Coconut is a fruit of the coconut tree. Its trunk is from one to two feet in diameter. It has no branches, but wears a crown of leaves from 70 to 100 feet above the ground. Its leaves are like a feather and with many segments, the leaves are usually 10 to 20 feet long. The coconut fruits are hung on the bases of the leaves in groups of between 10 and 15. Several groups mature throughout the year. A tree can produce 200 nuts per annum, but averages only about 40. Coconut tree grows wild in a tropical sea coast, and is grown in moist, frost-free climates, which is abundant in Southeast Asian countries.
