The Pamilacan Island
The Pamilacan Island is a small island in the Visayas Archipelagos nestled in the heart of Bohol Sea. The Pamilacan is derived from the word “pilak” means a large hook used by the islanders to catch manta rays, whale sharks and bryde’s whale which very abundant in the nearby island.
The Bohol Sea specially near to this islands is said to be a breeding ground of these mysterious but beautiful creatures. Pamilacan islands in previous times served as watch station against the attack of pirates and other enemies of the Spanish colony as evidenced of this the 200 year old Spanish fort on the northeast side of the islands is still there today.
Today, more than 200 families live in the islands. Most residence used to hunt dolphins, whale, whale sharks and manta rays but today these creatures are now protected by the Philippine law.

Chocolate Hills – This the most famous tourist attraction in Bohol. Among the thousands of perfectly cone-shaped hills which abound in Central Bohol, two of the hills have been developed into resort. On top of the hill are two youth hostels with a conference room, cozy cottages with private rooms and accommodations, swimming pool, tennis court and restaurant. A climb up 213 concrete steps on the other hill is an observation deck where one can view God’s wondrous creations spread below as far as the eyes can see. The grasses which cover the hills turn brown in the dry season. Its uniqueness shows when the hills are wet, it turns into green and when the sun is up high, it turns brown.

Chocolate Hills

Legend has it that the surreal Chocolate Hills are either the teardrops of a heartbroken giant or debris from a battle between two giants. Science, however, says the hillocks were formed by the weathering of marine limestone sitting on impermeable claystone. Trekking here is best in the dry season, when the hills are at their most chocolate-like.

Located in the town of Carmen, 55 kilometers from Tagbilaran City, the Chocolate Hills are undoubtedly the most famous tourist attraction in Bohol. Among the 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills, which abound in Central Bohol, two have been developed into a resort. On top of these hills is a complex that offers accommodation, conference rooms, restaurants, and a view deck.
