Philippine Volcanoes

Many volcanoes in the Philippines. They were one of the reasons for the natural decay of life and property of the century. At least 10 are considered active. The most famous are Iraya on Batanes Island, in Batangas Taal, Banahaw in Quezon, Mayon in Albay and Hibok-Hibok on Camiguin Island; Makaturing in Lanao; Apo in Davao, and MT. Pinatubo in Zambales.


Mount Pinatubo has gained notoriety as the destructive volcano in the world. He fell asleep before the outbreak in June 1991. Direct and indirect damage caused to public or private sectors, Zambales, Bataan and Pampanga, including the Clark Air Force Base in Angeles, Pampanga province. The ash is spread all over the world, global warming, cause damage to the ozone layer, and the negative impact of communication.


Six years eruptive lahar deposits along the volcano still cascade down the slopes in heavy rains. Should be continued for life, destroyed bridges and roads, and resist billion peso dikes built to contain lahar flows. These lahar flows are expected to last for five or more years, according to volcanologists. Philippines is located within a range seimic Pacific Ocean, they experience severe earthquakes.
