Why visit Mantayupan Falls?

Mantayupan Falls is an admirable natural wonder that has a height of about 200 feet high. There is also an enormous volume of water that flows from this falls, and it’s powerful enough to produce electricity and irrigate nearby farms. It’s an awesome sight that one should definitely be captured with photographs, so bring a decent camera when you visit this place.

From the top, the water falls splendidly to the ground some 200 ft. Other minor falls measures ninety feet from the top. This unique look adds to its distinct beauty and separates it from other waterfalls in the region.  The view & the sound of pouring waters make your waterfall experience a genuine.

Mantayupan Falls hold the record as the Cebu’s highest falls, even so, rested as humble as ever & far from commercialization. While on the process of development, flavor the thrilling view of the splashing falls and the cooling & revitalizing waters for a swim.

Mantayupan Falls is one of the well-preserved Cebu’s attractions. Since few people have still found it, it continued raw and untouched. The kind of feeling you look from the wild nature is what you can glimpse from there.

This well-known tourist attraction located in Barili is also a perfect destination for families or group of friends who want to visit a scenic place for fun and relaxation. The pool that is sustained by the gushing waters is ideal for swimmers and there are several picnic tables for folks who want to relax while they enjoy the beauty of the falls. Rafts are also available for people who want to safely enjoy  the cool and refreshing water from the falls.

Entrance Fee:

An entrance fee of 10.00 per head is very inexpensive. If you bring your own vehicle, parking area for the safety of your car or motorcycles have a parking fee of P10.00. for motorcycles & P20.00 for car.

The entire area is rocky, narrow and slippery but a cemented footpath was added to the location for easy hiking. The sidewalk is not as long as that of the Kawasan Falls. Unfortunately, it is not advisable for people who are using wheel chairs for it may cause further injuries.

Once you’re inside, it seemed that you are in a kind of nirvana, a fascinating place. No modern comforts, just pure simplicity and modest lifestyle. You will surely leave the stresses & burden of the dull life in the city. A good place for family & friends.

How To Get Over There?

Reaching the awesome Mantayupan Falls is easy. Begin the journey by going to Cebu South Terminal. At the terminal, look for public buses that are heading for Barili. ( With a sign board Barili or Badian} when you reach the town of Barili, you can then hire motorcycles that can bring you to the falls at Barangay Campangga. If you have service vehicles just ask the people there, the road going to Mantayupan Falls. They are very happy to tell you the direction.

From the parking area, it is an easy 1-2-minute walk to the first falls. There are several steps and a bridge going up to the second falls.

While you’re in the south bus terminal, you may hire a Car or Van Rental for your convenient.

Car – PhP 4200 net, including fuel and driver for whole day use.
    Van – PhP 6500 net, including fuel and driver for whole day use.

Since it is not too far, the Mantayupan falls tour can be accomplished in half a day, or around 5-6 hours. Others may opt to stay longer.

There is a canteen inside the area. Alternatively, you may wish to eat or buy food from Carcar or Barili town.
