Land Transportation Office LTO chief Ed Galvante admitted Monday that some corrupt practices remain rampant within his agency, saying he is ready to comply with President Rodrigo Duterte’s order for all appointed government officials to vacate their positions in order to solve this problem.
Galvante said he focused on ridding the LTO of fixers and addressing various complaints in some regional offices since he assumed office on July 1.
The LTO has seen improvement in these fronts, he said, but it may not have been enough for President Duterte, who ascended into power with a promise to bring societal change.
(We may not have cleaned the agency entirely, but we have addressed the heaviest issues although not as fast as the President may have expected to.)
