Claire wins US$1 million

Excitement was all over Claire dela Fuente as she retells meeting international pop icon Michael Bolton at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. She was head-over-heels for the Cincinnati-born artist during the launching of her newest album “The Claire dela Fuente: The Christmas Album” at the Claire dela Fuente Restaurant on Macapagal Ave. in Pasay City

According to Claire, the meeting was probably the most unforgettable moment of her life. Their duet recording of the Yuletide classic “The Christmas Song” is the most important highlight in her singing career. During that meeting, Michael told Claire that he was impressed when he first listened to her “Something in Your Eyes” CD, which was given to him by producer Christian De Walden.

Claire gifted Michael with a kulintang, the Muslim percussion instrument. In return, Michael gave Claire 24 long-stemmed pink roses. At meeting’s end, Claire got eight kisses and six tight hugs from Michael Bolton which was like winning US$ 1 million for Claire in the US lottery. She had the roses preserved and now holds a special spot in her bedroom.

The “Claire dela Fuente: The Christmas Album” is a collection of timeless Christmas songs of Claire which includes the “The Christmas Song” duet with Michael, “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Sa Pagdating Ng Pasko,” “White Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Kahit Ilang Pasko,” “Mary’s Boy Child,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas ,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Sana Sa Paskong Ito,” “You’re All I Want For Christmas,” “Silent Night,” produced by Christian De Walden for Viva Records.

Claire is now busy preparing for the live concert “Simply Unforgettable,” with Pinoy pop icon Jose Mari Chan to be staged at Skydome SM North EDSA on Nov. 13 and 27.
