Manila Hostage Crisis Souvenir Pictures

By admin On August 27, 2010 No Comments

It is already a Filipino culture to be an “usisero” not all but most us (included me). Whenever there is a road accident, killed, a big fire or any similar incident that gets the attention of bystanders, we filipinos normally flock to where the commotion is. We always say…what happen?

It is our nature to know what’s happening around us, however, sometimes it ruined our reputation.

With the hostage taking crisis last monday at the Quirino Grandstand, many were at the scene risking their lives just to have first hand information of how the hostage incident will unfold before their eyes. At least one of them hit by a stray bullet. (maajo ra ug sa taga Bohol pa) good for them. Because of this incident, one senator wanted to file an anti “usisero bill”.

Another Filipino trait came out: Insensitivity.

Proof? Check out the pictures below.

ABS-CBN refutes Willie Revillame’s claims

By admin On August 22, 2010 No Comments

A Bicycle That Sharpens Knives

By admin On August 10, 2010 No Comments

What would you think if you saw a man seated backward on a bicycle, pedaling vigorously but standing still? In any parts of the world, such as here in the Philippines, you would likely be watching a knife sharpener – a man who makes his living by filling a community need.

His bicycle is ordinary but has a few important modifications. It has a circular grindstone mounted on a reinforced luggage carrier. For the drive belt, a nylon string is wrapped around the rim of an extra bicycle wheel that has been split in half and welded to the back wheel of the bike.

It is not certain how this ingenious implement came to Philippines. You can find this also to many places in the world like in Tanzania or in Mexico. I guy who’s name is Andrea told us… “I have been told that such bikes
